FAQ - Embedded & New Window Studio Sessions

Q: Can an Event Cloud event be enabled to support Embedded and New Window Studio Sessions?

A: Yes, an Event Cloud site can have both the Embedded and New Window Studio Sessions options enabled. The New Window Studio Sessions will require Admins to log into the Studio Tenant to complete all webcast configuration setup steps.

Q: I accidentally updated my Embedded Studio Session’s Video Provider and saved the changes. My original session is no longer available, can it be recovered?

A: No, when the Video Provider is changed from Embedded Studio to another dropdown option and saved, everything related to the original Studio Session is cleared (including previous staffer links, uploaded content, sources, etc.)

When the Video Provider is changed after an Embedded Studio Session has been set on-demand, is also detached and the recording is no longer retrievable.

As a best practice, do not edit the Video Provider dropdown after recording or configuring any part of an Embedded Studio Session. All previous work will be lost, and a fresh Embedded Studio Session will need to be configured.

Q: For New Window Studio Sessions, am I required to use the “Event Cloud Studio Session Template (pop out)” template?

A: Yes, New Window Studio Webcasts must be created using the base “Event Cloud Studio Session Template (pop out)” or from a new template created from the base template. In addition to required custom settings, the template has the “No Registration, Require Email Address” settings in place and must not be changed.

Please note, Templates from VX webcasts or standalone Studio tenants cannot be copied into an Event Cloud Studio Session tenant.

Q: For New Window Studio Sessions, can I enable the Session Details page chat and the New Window Studio interface chat?

A: If Chat is enabled in the New Window Studio interface, it will be separate from the Event Cloud Chat module. As a best practice, do not enable Chat in both the New Window Studio interface and in the Session Details page to avoid confusion.

Q: Is the Studio Quality of Experience (QoE) dashboard supported for Embedded Studio Webcasts?

A: No, currently the Studio Quality of Experience (QoE) dashboard is not available for Embedded Studio Sessions. Please note, this feature and corresponding reporting will be available in a future release.
