How to Set Up Event Notifications

Admins can now send notifications in real-time to all event attendees, either right away (Send Now) or during a scheduled window.  Attendees who log into the event during your notification window get a pop-up with the notification (and a link if you chose to add one) which remains on their page until they close it. Past notifications are available for attendees to view at any time on their Event Notifications page.  

 

How to send notifications

1. Navigate to the Admin Portal  
2. Click Event Event_Outline.png
3. Click Event Notifications Notification_Outline.png

4. Add the Title of the notification in the Title Field as well as the Notification Message itself in the Body Field.

You can optionally add a link in the link field if you want the notification to link to another page.

 

Note: The Title Field has a character limit of 98, however only the first 40-45 characters will be visible in the pop-up notification. The Body Field must have less than 250 characters.

5. You are able to choose if the link opens up in the same tab or a new one.  Note if you choose the same tab option, you can use an Event Cloud link in the field.  If you choose to have the link open in a new tab you can use any link you would like.

6. If you want to send the notification now, select "Send Now", and then select a date and time when the notification will expire. Notify_Now.PNG
7. If you want to send the notification at a later scheduled time, select "Schedule Send", and then select a date and time when the notification will start as well as a date and time when the notification will expire. Notify_Sched.PNG

8. The expiration time controls when the notification no longer pops up automatically when users log into the event. Attendees who log in after a notification's expiration time won't see it as a pop-up (although all past event notifications are always available from their Schedule Builder > Event Notifications page).

How to delete notifications

 

1. Navigate to the Admin Portal  
2. Click Event Event_Outline.png
3. Click Event Notifications Notification_Outline.png

4. Find the notification you would like to delete. Select the trash icon to the left.

5. This will open a pop-up asking if you are sure you want to delete it. Click Delete and the notification should no longer be displayed for your attendees!
