Q: Why does an outdated title appear when using the Facebook share button on my registration page?
A: The first time someone shares a link, the Facebook crawler will scrape the HTML at that URL to gather, cache and display info about the content on Facebook like a title, description, and thumbnail image. If any of this information is changed after this initial scrape, the crawler will need to be scraped again to update the information. Due to this, we recommend not using the social sharing features until your registration page is finished.
If Facebook has cached outdated information for your registration page, you will need to manually scrape the data using Facebook's debugger tool below.
Using the debugger tool, you would enter the registration page link and click Debug.
Once the debug runs you can review the warnings Facebook recommends to be fixed, then click Scrape Again to pull the updated information from your page. This will update the crawler to include the most recent information from when this new scrape is done.
